Marsa Alam: Paradise on the Red Sea After a long flight, we landed in Marsa Alam, the pearl of the Red Sea coast. Upon arrival we were greeted by a stunning mix of turquoise water and dramatic desert scenery. Day 1: Relaxation on the beach Our first day was relaxing. We soaked up the sun, took refreshing dips in the clear water, and enjoyed snorkeling on coral reefs teeming with vibrant marine life. Marsa Alam is a paradise for water lovers and the beaches are absolutely stunning. Day 2: Desert Safari Adventure To break the beach routine, we decided to go on an exciting safari in the desert. We jumped into 4x4 vehicles and explored the dry beauty of the Sahara. The highlight of the day was watching the mesmerizing sunset over the sand dunes. Day 3: Snorkeling in the wonders of the Red Sea Marsa Alam is known for its incredible dive sites and we couldn't leave without exploring them. We started a snorkeling trip to Elphinstone Reef where we encountered living coral gardens, reef sharks and an impressive underwater world. Cairo: Where History Meets Modernity After three happy days in Marsa Alam, we boarded a domestic flight to Cairo, the bustling capital of Egypt. Day 4: Pyramids and Sphinx The Great Pyramids of Giza were at the top of our list. In front of these huge structures, we could not help but marvel at the architectural magnificence of the ancient Egyptians. The enigmatic sphinx added an extra layer of mystery to the experience. Day 5: Visiting Egyptian museums Our fifth day was dedicated to exploring the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square. The collection of artifacts, including Tutankhamun's treasures, provided a deep dive into Egypt's rich history. Day 6: Walking in Old Cairo We wandered through the historic streets of Old Cairo and admired the magnificent architecture of the mosques, including Muhammad Ali's Alabaster Mosque. The lively markets, known as bazaars, are great for picking up souvenirs.
